Transitioning Care From In-patient to Out-patient: Reducing Opioid Use and Improving Outcomes Post-operatively with Dr. Josh Gleicher

The use of opioids for the management of post-operative pain has traditionally been accepted as the standard of care.  As a growing body of evidence points to the improved patient outcomes observed when multi-modal pain management strategies are employed it is not surprising to see the use of regional anesthesia gaining popularity.  Dr. Josh Gleicher will discuss the implementation process of this program at Sinai Health in Toronto, Ontario exploring the surgical procedures performed, the patient inclusion and exclusion criteria, and the overall impact this program has had on not only the patient but also the organization.  #patientsafety #healthcarequalityimprovement #regionalanethesia
